Way
out
in
the
sticks,
cus
Jewett's
a
small
town
Granmommie
was
in
a
tizzy,
rushing
all
around
Her
favorite
month
of
the
year
had
come
so
quick
She
had
to
get
ready
for
"Ole
Saint
Nick"

Where
is
the
lights,
the
angels,
the
tree
she
had
bought
The
wreaths
she
had
made
were
simply,
another
thought
Wrapping
and
bows
of
which
there
were
lots
Tangled
cords
all
tied
up
in
knots.
With
no
elves
there
to
help
her,
they
had
all
flown
the
nest
This
year
would
really
be
a
great
big
undertaking
test
Every
year
a
little
more
time
consuming
and
a
little
more
strain
More
breaks
for
muscle
rub
and
more
medicine
for
pain.

It
wouldn't
be
long
before
old
Santa
would
be
here
And
she
wouldn't
be
ready
was
her
greatest
fear
Out
came
the
old
ladder,
from
the
old
shed
out
back
For
at
decorating
the
holiday,
she
had
this
knowing
knack.
She
busied
herself
with
all
the
tasks
there
at
hand
And
some
unexpected
ones,
even
she
didn't
plan
The
stockings
were
hung,
a
lot
more
babies
this
year
All
that
Granmommie
holds
so
close
and
so
dear.

Up
went
the
tree,
the
garland,
the
mistletoe,
the
lights
all
around
Up
went
the
homemade
Manger
where
love
for
our
Savior
does
so
abound
Finally
what
a
very
special,
beautiful
sight
When
she
threw
the
breaker
to
light
up
the
night.
Then
Granmommie
climbs
on
the
house
top
so
high
Giving
minor
finishing
touches
and
giving
one
heck
of
a
sigh
Admiring
her
work
and
thinking
that
would
be
all
that
she
wrote
Granmommie
lets
loose
with
her
rendition
of
"Going
to
Heaven
in
a
Little
Row
Boat"

The
dinner
is
cooked
and
there
are
homemade
goodies
a
lot
Now
how
to
keep
her
husband
from
sampling
the
pot
All
is
done
and
she
gives
a
big
sigh
of
relief
Done
for
another
year
is
beyond
belief.
Then
down
the
old
dusty
road,
kids
and
grandbabies
rounding
the
bend
And
another
year
finally
comes
to
an
end
Granmommie
is
spent
but
with
a
glass
of
good
cheer
Wishes
all
that
visit
"Merry
Christmas
and
Happy
New
Year"
