lookups, and assistance. Links to many genealogy sites and
 personal family history sites with links to assistance.

The US GenWeb Project  isgroup of volunteers working together
to provide Internet websites for genealogical research in every 
county and every state of the United States. 
This Project is non-commercial and fully committed to free
access for everyone.
The Family History Library of the Church of Jesus Christ of 
 Latter Day Saints has a new web site that can be used to search
 family names.  It has a great Surname Search! There are millions
 of Surnames and IGI Records to search. Lots of Helpful Links too.
 The Church operates Family History Centers across the U.S.
 
Family Tree Maker  offers free trial versions of their software and
 genealogy links and tutorial links.

Ellis Island Records Site   Great free resource site that lets 
you  search the Ellis Island immigration records. 
You can even view online family scrapbooks.
