The children of Henry Lee and Emma Lee Crain are:

Alaska Lillian "Bill" Crain Hodges, Floyd Elmer Crain, Thurman William

I know I have probably
left someone out.
The last
four of the children were born in Navarro County. I don't know about the rest.
As the record I had only covered the years from 1920 to 1938. The family moved
to Houston sometime after the birth of James Earl in 1932.
Vivaleen married a Virgil Henry Wood and had two sons Jerry and Chester Wood and one daughter Mary Catherine. The third son Virgil Ray died in a tragic accident in the late 1950's. His widow was Doris Magness Wood. They had two or three young children.
Alaska Lillian "Bill" married Charles A. "Doc" Hodges and lived most of her life on Iron Mountian near Jacksonville, TX. I don't remember anyone ever calling her by her real name as everyone called her Bill. She never had any real children but kept a houseful of dolls, each with it's own name and loved every child she met. I remember taking my two oldest boys to visit her in 1974 and they didn't want to leave. She was so proud of her new indoor privy which had been sitting in the makeshift bathroom for years before it was connected. She died about 1980.
Opal married Finis Getty and lived most of her life in Galena Park, Texas. She had a son James Lewis, daughter Betty, and a son Eugene. Who all lived near their mother in Pasadena and Houston.
Lewis
Leon had married Vida and later moved to northern California. He had two
daughters and two sons. Their first child Virginia Loualie born 1939 died
the same year. Second daughter Phyllis was born in 1941 followed by Ronald
in 1943 and Dennis in 1946. Leon died in 1997. ![]()
Ruby
Pearl was born in 1920 and has a son Jimmy Dean Wood Brocenus and a daughter
Christina (Chrisula) Brocenus. First husband Jimmy Charles Wood died in 1941.
Rudy then married Michael John Brocenus who adopted Jimmy and is the father
of her daughter. They later moved to Washington state, where she still lives.![]()
Thurman William married Avolois Smith and they have two daughters Karen and Deborah. One son named Keith Crain. They made their home in Tyler, Texas where they still live today. Thurman is retired from the telephone company and they both enjoy camping trips.
Floyd Elmer died about 1947 in his late twenties, in an accident with a train on Navigation St. in Houston, TX. Leaving a wife Katherine "Katy" and two young daughters Elna and Marylan and sons Joe and Elmer "E.F." Crain.
Coy
Cornelius married Elizabeth and they had a son Coy Cornelius Jr.and a
daughter Linda. Coy is a retired mail truck driver who drove the route from
Houston to Dallas everyday for years. They raised their family in Friendswood,
Texas.![]()
Darwood
Morris married Delores and had four children Dwainne, Ricky, Nena and
Sandra. They lived for the last thirty years in Ft.Worth near their children
and grandchildren. Darwood died August 13, 2001 in Dallas, Texas. Burial was

Darwood's
Obituary
Charles Edward married Antoinette and had four sons: Thomas, Perry, Richard, and Larry. He lived most of his life near Baytown and Houston. He died four years ago. Uncle Charlie loved to pick and tease the children, he was the dad, grandpa, and uncle that always took time to make you feel special.
James Earl Crain married Alta Rea Frazier and had four children before their divorce in 1964. Three daughters and one son named John Murry Crain. His daughters are Patricia Ann, Barbara Lynn, and Cynthia Joyce. James and Alta now have nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren with another to arrive in 2002.
More on this line later as I am still gathering info and researching the great-grandparents of William Jefferson Crain of Hill, Navarro, and Parker County, Texas who were Albert Crane b.1802 of South Carolina and Martha Ann Beavers b.1804 of Virginia. Albert's father was John Crain " The Irishman".
